MATHILDE VÉZINA-BOUCHARD
ART DIRECTOR
COMP & VFX SUPERVISOR
SENIOR NUKE COMPOSITOR
TEAM LEAD
Hi!
My name is Mathilde, and I am a (twice award-nominated!) VFX supervisor & senior compositor with a decade of experience across film, episodic, and high-end advertising.
I built my career in fast-turnaround environments and quickly became the “creative work” compositor on teams that trusted me with complex, stylistically driven shots. Over the years, I’ve moved through roles from lead compositor to on-set supervisor, compositing supervisor, VFX supervisor and creative director.
My core strengths lie in creative and technical problem-solving, visual cohesion, and productive communication. I am a persistent artist who works well in teams. I enjoy complex challenges as much as look development, and I value collaboration with people I can both learn from and teach.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
As the VFX supervisor on this project, I collaborated with the clients and guided their decisions from storyboard to finished product.
I led the full VFX vision for this four-and-a-half-minute in-store campaign, building a surreal, vintage collage world across both on-set supervision and post. With the client still refining the edit, I began shaping the visual language early by sourcing and hand-cutting imagery from over a hundred vintage National Geographic magazines I personally bought off of Facebook Marketplace, photographing and processing them for compositing to preserve an authentic tactile texture.
One key sequence—an actress seated on a cloud-whale—required a creative solution under tight timelines and a limited budget. I combined Sora-generated performances, custom rotoscoping, and practical collage methods to achieve the client’s desired aesthetic. To unify the piece, I printed and rescanned every animation frame for a subtle stop-motion feel, and built each scene using projection workflows to retain parallax and depth despite the intentionally flat design.
The result is a handcrafted, playful universe that merges analog techniques with modern tools, driven by resourceful problem-solving and a clear creative direction.
